Start a Free Online Business

When most potential entrepreneurs search the Internet looking for a method to start a free online business, they generally want to minimize their financial risk. After all, the less money you have to spend upfront the less you can possibly lose. I don't blame anyone for taking this route, but there are advantages and disadvantages just like everything else.

The word; "Free" in the Internet business world means that you are handicapped with what you can utilize as tools. A great example of this is the site that offers you a free website. The downfall to this option is you may be limited with the tools you can use, there might be the site's advertisement in your website, and you won't be able to use your own domain name.

The biggest issue with start a free online business is it's setup for the creators to succeed, but not you. Maybe they offer you a free website and say; "GO PROMOTE!" Maybe they have this monumental payout structure, but it will take years to reach the threshold.

What I'm getting at here is you won't find a good online business that is free. Even if you do make money you are spending more time on it than you would with something where you invested money into it. So forget about the overall "FREE" options out there.

The closest thing to free on a financial standpoint that I would recommend is affiliate marketing. You can go to Amazon, EBay Affiliates, Clickbank, Commission Junction, Link Share, and a host of other places to promote other people's products.

Keep in mind you want to do this in a timely fashion so it is in your best interest to get a blog or website. Then again, if you're dead set on doing everything for free you will have to take a different route. In this case you will focus on social networking sites, blogs, article marketing outlets that allow affiliate links, and everything else you would need to work around.

The good news to all this is that it's quite possible to start a free online business, but it will take longer to get off the ground. All the forums, social networks, etc., etc. rely on the "trust" factor more than websites or blogs that offer reviews.

I don't want to discourage you from starting an online business that won't cost you a dime, but you should know what to expect. Just understanding how it works will allow you to be more patient and overcome the obstacles better.

Most importantly, when you start making a little money be sure to save it. When you have a big enough budget you can start making a real website or blog, promote with pay per click or other targeted traffic methods, and make the kind of money you've been dreaming about all along.
