Online Home Base Business Plans

Your Online Home Base Business needs a plan.

A formal business plan is required if you need financing.

Lenders are not likely to even consider your loan request without it. Some SBA resources for formal business plans: Some questions which need to be answered:
  • How are you going to get started?
  • How will you do your keyword research?
  • What niche will you fill?
  • What are you going to sell?
  • How will you get traffic?
  • How will you convert that traffic into customers?
  • Where will you host your website?
  • How will you handle your website design?
  • Who will write the content?
  • When will you begin?
  • How much can you invest in your business?

How are you going to get started?

The best way to start is to write out your plan for your online home base business. You can acquire a fill-in-the-blank form at your local office supply store, search for software on the web, or at the very least, get out a sheet of paper and write out how you intend to get started in your enterprise.

How will you do your keyword research?

You will need to do in-depth keyword research. For now, go to Word Tracker or Niche Bot and read their tutorials.

What niche will you fill?

What is a "niche"?

"A focused, targetable part of a market."

"A niche market is a focused, targetable portion of a market.
By definition, then, a business that focuses on a niche market is addressing a need for a product or service that is not being addressed by mainstream providers. You can think of a niche market as a narrowly defined group of potential customers."

What are you going to sell?

Hard goods, egoods, services, affiliate products, or will you simply be an infopreneuer.

Each of these can be profitable if you don't try to serve too large a niche, one so large you are competing with the big boys.

How will you get traffic?

By writing keyword focused content you will get most of your traffic for free by way of the search engines.

Article marketing done properly can add a sizeable amount of traffic.

Advertising can be risky (and expensive) until you know what you are doing. We will explore more free traffic sources in a more in-depth article.

How will you convert that traffic into customers?

Don't try to take your visitors to your sales page straight off. First you must pre-sell to get your visitors in the buying mood.

How do you pre-sell? I have a free ebook for you, the only one available today.

Where will you host your website?

You want a web host that is dependable and is never down, at least not for long. They should have excellent customer support service 24/7. And they should offer all the features your website requires.

How will you handle your website design?

Will you hire a designer, do it yourself, or use a template? Each has its advantages and disadvantages.

Who will write the content?

Will you write content yourself? I suggest you do, at least some of it. This should give you a better idea what you want from a freelancer or copywriter.

When will you begin?

The time to start is now. Get started by writing your plan today.

How much can you invest in your business?

Will you do everything yourself or outsource some of the work?
